What’s happening in Oakey Wood at the grand opening?

• Follow the Silver Leaf Trail, learn about native tree species & discover the oldest oak tree in the woods.
• Enjoy tea, coffee, juice and cake beneath the canopy, in the Story Grove, while listening to tales from a tree or two.
• Visit the Tree of Wishes, write hopes, blessings and letters to nature and hang them on the tree.
• Find the fire circle and roast caramelised pears and apples.
• Join a soil safari to explore the wonderful world of micro-life in Oakey Wood.
• Help create a habitat hedge. Using nature’s biodegradable materials and furnishings, help create cosy crevices and secretive shelters for birds, mammals and insects.
• Dare you take on the Stick-Tower Challenge? Can you build the tallest twiggy tower using only sticks and string? A great family activity. Can’t wait to see your towers!
